Hoteliers in Italy did just that. During the Settimana del Baratto, or Barter Week run by the Italian Bed and Breakfast Association, Bed and Breakfast establishments encouraged their customers to use barter instead of cash to pay for their room.  Whether it is personalized caps or a free massage, the hoteliers accept all forms of trades.
